A 21-day Canadian and International youth leadership program immersed in an outdoor recreational activities, expedition style adventures and skill based programs. Located in beautiful British Columbia, participants explore some of BC's most beautiful and significant locations, including: Whistler, Tofino, Gambier Island, Strathcona Park, Vancouver and Victoria.

Age: 14 to 17 years old (co-ed)
Vision and Values – participants will spend time reflecting upon the experience and write a vision letter of what they hope to accomplish.
All youth will learn about the five Fireside leadership values: Trust, Respect, Responsibility, Commitment, and Perseverance.
International Leadership Program Curriculum The fundamental elements of the International Leadership Expedition are integral to providing successful and quality learning experiences for all our youth. The program focuses on the following three fundamental learning areas:

will visit during their road trip

Wilderness Fundamentals
• Campsite management & selection
• Minimum impact camping instruction
• Outdoor cooking and food
• Wilderness risk management essentials
• Basic map, compass and navigation training
• Hiking & backpacking sessions
• Basic wilderness first aid & emergency exiting
• Basic survival training (what to do when you are in trouble)
• Plant and wildlife identification
• Shelter & fire building
Costs
Price: normal $2,999 CDN if booked via CAMP ADVENTURE price is 2849 CDN+ 12% HST
(includes instruction, food, accommodation, some camping gear, camping fees, and transportation during trip. Does not include flight and some optional activities.)
Meals - healthy, plentiful, delicious, prepared by staff and participants are fully involved in food prep.
Accommodation - youth will sleep in various forms of accommodation such as dormitory www.firesidelodge.org/ (dorm style units), Tepees, traditional camp style cabins and tents
Staff - two professional instructors and one student intern per 15 youth in a group
Airport - Participants are picked up and dropped off from Vancouver International Airport.
Flights are not included in the registration fee
Optional Activities: Surfing, Whale Watching and Zip Trekking in Whistler
