Irland Camp Ireland Camp
Our English Sport Camp in Ireland at St Columba’s College in Dublin
Our tip: here you can learn English in a traditional ‘Harry Potter’-style boarding school while at the same time taking exercise on the fantastic open air area. Rugby, soccer, tennis, golf, Irish sports, and of course our “ordinary” camp program – experience 2 amazing weeks on the green island of Ireland.
Location:
Ireland: a country full of mystical stories, thousands of lakes, steep rugged rocks and golden beaches. A breathtaking landscape, the very hospitable inhabitants plus the culture it literally breathes, will wow you! The Irish capital Dublin, located at the north coast, is a highlight for each tourist because of its very special mixture of modernity and tradition.
This is the place where you have the possibility to learn English; a surrounding that outshines every elite school in England: the St Columba`s College offers pretty much everything you could possibly wish for starting with tennis- and hockey courts, pitches, different rugby courts, a golf court, a gym, and an open air pool. It is situated on the outskirts of Dublin so that you can either head into Dublin within a very short time or explore the hilly landscape typical for Ireland. The St Columba’s College captivates visitors with its mixture of medieval looks (the already mentioned ‘Harry Potter’-style) and modern interior decoration. We are allowed to also use the many class rooms and also the laboratory for our English lessons or the ‘arts & crafts’ projects.
You will stay in the ‘Residence’ where usually the pupils are housed during school year. Of course you will stay in these 4-6-bed-rooms – most of them including a bath room- with other participants of your age. The traditional Dining Hall at the area will render each meal unforgettable. To be sure, food, water, and fruits are inclusive the whole day.
Program:
It goes without saying that our English coaching with 40 units is already included in the 14 days program! Learn English together with other international children and youths, taught by native speakers of English! Not stubborn cramming of grammar and vocabulary in a boring class room but actively speaking and learning by loads of activities with games and fun!
Choose your main focus in our activity program – you can train together with Irish coaches from the college who partly also train junior national teams, or with our teamers. Broaden your skills or just have fun - it’s up to you!
Chose your main focus from:
• Rugby. This Irish national sport is a tradition at St Columba’s. Here you’ll find fantastic possibilities to exercise it because of many courts and coaches who’ll teach you the tips and tricks.
• Tennis: The 4 tennis courts offer you the possibility to expand your tennis skills considerably. Just bring your equipment with you and compete against the other kids and youths from all other the world.
• Soccer: Of course, you can also play soccer at St Columba’s. If the weather’s bad, we can play soccer in the gym – and here comes the extra sweetener: during August the trainer team of the VfB Stuttgart soccer school will be at St Columba’s as well! Other soccer teams have also knocked at our door – you’ll get the freshest news always here!
• Golf: on the well-tended golf links of St Columba’s give you the chance to improve without being pressed for time. Beginners can try Golf out and bat their first ‘birdies’. If you already have one, just bring your equipment with you – that makes it easier to learn – or start golfing with our rental equipment.
• Hockey: with more than 6 green keepers just for the courts St Columba’s meets highest quality demands. Be part of the Irish trainer team lessons in Hockey!
• Irish sports: whatever your choice – be it Gaelic Football, Cricket, or Hurling – try out the Irish national sports with your friends who probably don’t know more about it than you. Big fun is pre-programmed!
