Camp Adventure Sports Instructor Certificate (ADVI)

5 days - 4 different adventure sports! This is the ultimate course for everybody who will have to instruct the sports at a low level - perfect for camps or tourist organizations who want their staff member to become able to lead several activities! Always safety issues are the most important part but group dynamics and the basic technical hard skills will be taught as well.” Learning-by-doing” is the key in our Adventure Sport Course. On the fifth day a test will follow in the second half of the day to check your skills.

First day
Canoeing or Kayaking. Learn the basic strokes at canoeing/kayaking in a lake or river. Learn how to rescue a canoe in the water and how to store them properly. Canoeing games will be followed by a introduction of life saving of participants with a PFD.
Second day
Archery. After this day you will know how to repair arrows and bows. Basic shooting skills will be taught and be discussed. You will be able to lead without any problems basic archery courses and activities.
Third day
Low-ropes. Here you will be able to learn the basic set up of our standard low-ropes course and initiative activities for kids and adults. After this day you will be able to set up simple low-ropes by yourself!
Fourth day & Fifth day
Climbing. Learn the basic knots and belaying techniques. Learn how to use special belaying equipment. Learn how to use climbing walls and rock climbing in a sense that participants of all ages and skill levels can participate safely with a “top rope” safety system. Psychological needs of the participants are especially relevant on climbing activities and will be discussed.

Camp Adventure Archery Safety Instructor (ASI)

The Archery Safety Instructor will be able to take care of all archery ranges. From basic safety instructions to simple methods in repairing bows and arrows the Archery Safety Instructor will be able to guarantee a working range. Games and how to set up an archery lesson will be taught as well as practical skills how to shoot a bow and an arrow. This course will take 12 hours.

Camp Adventure Mobile High Ropes Course Specialist (MHRCS)

Only for experienced climbers/high ropes course specialists! Here you will learn anything about how to set up a mobile high and low ropes course in a forest. Together with our specialists you will able to plan and construct several elements and you will learn all the safety issues that are necessary. You will further be familiar with different equipment and learn special techniques of climbing.
After this training you are qualified to construct and to handle mobile rope installations, like Giant Swing and Flying Fox, and to coach groups to use them. We assume that basics are known already by the participants. If not known, they could be learned in another course before.This program is comprised of 6 days on the high ropes course. This course can be followed by an internship at one of our camps so that you can try the skills that you learned directly on the job.

Camp Adventure High Ropes Safety Instructor Certificate (HRCI)

This course is used to help you to develop a full sense of perspective in the operation of high ropes course elements. This program is comprised of 5 days on the high ropes course. Technical (physical safety) skills are learned through lot of hands-on practice. Facilitation and processing skills are practiced as trainees experience
the group process, giving and receiving real feedback throughout the program. This training is geared both for individuals who are new to the world of challenge courses as well as those who wish to solidify their skill and get a better handle on the ‘big picture’. This course is only for participants with basic climbing/high ropes course skills. Participants without can book our RCA course which will be happening just before all HRCI and MHRCS courses.

Camp Adventure Ropes Course Assistant Certificate (RCA)

The Assistant Ropes Course Instructor course prepares individuals for leading and facilitating low and high ropes course programs. The course introduces instructor candidates to games, initiatives, trust exercises and low and high ropes course leadership skills and is suitable for individuals who will be supervised by a ropes course instructor. The course explores experimental learning and facilitation theory as well current standards. Instructor candidates will develop safe attitudes toward ropes course activities by learning and practising the basic technical,facilitation and safety management skills required for working at a ropes course program.
This course will be 1,5 days long.

Course Objectives
By the end of this course, instructor candidates will:
1. Have the skills to assist in high ropes operation including belaying, knot tying, set-up/take down, personal fall protection and equipment use and care
2. Be familiar with adventure learning theories and practices especially their application to program design
3. Learn and practice safe operation and management aspects of high and low ropes elements
4. Experience facilitating a low activity including its design, delivery and debrief
5. Improve their ability to provide meaningful involvement opportunities for all participants
