Accommodations
You’ll be staying in shared dorms with other campers—the perfect way to make new friends quickly and experience the true camp life. Our staff members live right nearby and are always available to talk to, so you’ll always have someone on-site to turn to.
The youth hostel offers various common areas as well as outdoor spaces where you can meet up, relax, or spend time together between activities. The seaside terrace overlooking the North Sea is especially popular—a perfect spot to sit together, chat, or simply enjoy the fresh sea air. Thanks to its location right by the dunes and close to the beach, a large part of daily camp life takes place outdoors—with plenty of exercise, fresh North Sea air, and space for group activities.
Meals
During the camp, you’ll be provided with a varied full-board meal plan. In the morning, a large breakfast buffet awaits you, featuring fresh rolls, cereal, yogurt, and fresh fruit and vegetables. There are also various hot and cold beverages—the perfect start to an active day at camp.
Since we’re often out and about at lunchtime or participating in beach activities, you’ll receive a packed lunch to take with you. This usually consists of bread or a roll, a drink, a healthy snack, and a small sweet treat.
In the evening, a generous dinner buffet with hot dishes awaits you, where you can recharge after an eventful day. Water and fresh fruit are available for free at all times. There are also vending machines with candy and soft drinks.
We can, of course, accommodate most food allergies or special dietary needs upon prior arrangement.
At the English camp on Amrum, you can look forward to a varied daily schedule featuring a mix of language lessons, beach activities, and shared experiences by the North Sea.
The day can optionally begin with Morning Sports—such as yoga, jogging, or fitness exercises in the fresh North Sea air.
English classes are a central part of the language camp. In 20 lessons of 45 minutes each per week, you’ll learn in small groups with qualified native speakers. A short placement test ensures that you’re placed in a group that matches your language level. Instead of dry theory, the focus is on conversations, games, and creative tasks. This helps you improve your vocabulary and confidence in English, allowing you to use the language naturally in your daily camp life.
In addition to classes, a diverse leisure and outdoor program awaits you on the beach. This includes team games, sports, and creative activities such as beach volleyball, sandcastle competitions, “Capture the Flag,” or workshops like crafts and painting. Of course, there’s also time for beach life and relaxation, as well as daily rotating activities as part of Free Sports.
Special highlights include the stand-up paddleboarding course, a boat tour to the seal colonies, and an exciting island rally. If you stay for two weeks, you can also take part in a guided island bike tour and earn a TOEFL certificate at the end of your stay (optional add-on).
In the evening, the camp comes together: we wrap up the day together with games, shows, or a disco night. This creates an active camp routine full of movement, language, nature, and international encounters.

English TOEFL® – Your Next Step in Learning English
If you’d like to further improve your English skills in a more focused way, you can also book the TOEFL® preparation course during the two-week camp. This course builds on the English Classic course and combines practical English learning at the camp with targeted preparation for an internationally recognized language test. At the end, you will receive a certificate based on the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR) that documents your current language level.
In addition to the regular English classes, you will participate in 10 additional preparation sessions. There, you will work intensively on key areas such as grammar, reading, and listening comprehension, and become familiar with the structure of the test. A full-scale test simulation helps you get familiar with the process and feel confident going into the exam.
The course is an ideal way to improve your English while earning an internationally recognized language certificate.
Well looked after – from the first to the last day of camp
Our staff members come from different countries and are there for you around the clock – with experience, a willingness to listen, and a genuine enthusiasm for camp life. Every camper has designated staff members on the team who are available at any time. Our staff-to-camper ratio ranges from approximately 1:5 to 1:9, depending on the age group. All team members are carefully selected, specially trained, have a current background check, and work in accordance with our safety guidelines.
A special part of the English camp on Amrum is its international atmosphere. English is spoken a lot in everyday life—as a matter of course during sports on the beach, during team games, or when talking with your counselors. This way, the language naturally becomes part of camp life.
The camp isn’t just about activities and adventures, but also about personal experiences. Between the beach, the sea, and the dunes, you can try new things, master challenges, and grow together with your group. Step by step, you’ll build self-confidence, develop new skills, and form genuine friendships.
To help you focus fully on camp life, we’ve adopted a digital detox approach. On arrival day, we collect electronic devices; you can use your phone for about an hour a day to quickly check in with home. True to the motto “Log off, get outside!”, most of the day is devoted to group activities, exercise in the fresh North Sea air, and camp life.
At all our camps, the rule is: No drugs, no alcohol – just fun! Our focus is on a safe, respectful, and positive camp community where everyone can feel at home.
