You can reach us around the clock during arrival and departure as well as in emergencies (e.g. illness or delay). The emergency number is intended exclusively for urgent cases that cannot wait until office hours – please keep it free. The number is only valid during camp time.
Our office team is available Monday to Friday from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Outside these hours, you can leave a message.

Emergency number: +49 40 8080 576 11
Contact options at the camp:
There are no landline phones available. If you would like to speak to your child, please provide them with a mobile phone with an international SIM card or activated roaming. Wi-Fi is not usually available in German camps, so a suitable tariff is necessary.
Mobile phone and smartwatch policy:
We collect all electronic devices on the day of arrival to preserve the offline nature of the camp. We will of course contact you in serious cases. No news is good news.
During the siesta after lunch, we hand out the devices for a short time. After the break, we collect them again. On excursion days, the children are allowed to keep their devices with them during the day.
In an emergency, you can reach us via the emergency number – around the clock.
Since phone calls home can cause homesickness, we generally recommend sending an email instead. That's why we offer an email service that allows you to send your child an email once a day. We usually print these out in the morning and then forward them to your child. Please refrain from sending attachments such as pictures, videos, comics or similar. We cannot print these out or show them to the children. This is a ‘one-way service’. Your child cannot reply to you, but they will certainly be happy to receive a little message from home.
If you miss your child and would like to be called during siesta time, simply send an email to the camp. The camp location's email address is also the best way to contact our team on site directly if you have any organisational questions, for example.

Emails:
Please note that it takes about 24 hours for us to print, sort, and deliver emails. If you send your message in the morning, it will usually be handed out the next day. Emails are always distributed during Siesta time.
Letters and Postcards:
Keep in mind that letters and postcards can take several days to arrive.
Important: Make sure to include your child’s full name and the camp date in the address line so we can correctly assign the mail.
Please send letters early – ideally one week before the camp starts. Unfortunately, we cannot process packages or returns.
You’ll find the camp addresses listed above under the section “Address.”
Please do not pack more than 1 large piece of luggage weighing a maximum of 20 kg! You will have to carry your luggage yourself during transfers!

For the journey/check-in at the camp:
Please pack documents, medication and pocket money in a sealable bag labelled with your child's name and the camp they are travelling to. We will collect these at check-in and keep them safe for your child. We do NOT require a vaccination certificate or swimming certificate.

Tips and tricks
- Please label your laundry/clothing, as several campers often have similar items with them and this is the only way to identify lost items.
- We recommend a pillowcase/cloth bag for storing dirty laundry – damp laundry can stain plastic bags.
- It is helpful to pack clean clothes in different coloured bags so that you can quickly find your underwear, for example, without having to search through all your clothes.
- Please do not bring any technical devices or similar items or valuables worth more than £500. We accept no liability for these items.
- Pocket money: We recommend approx. £20 per week for camps in Germany. In England, Spain and for trips by plane, £50 per week. For older children (15-17 years), max. £200. In England, please bring pounds sterling or a prepaid credit card.
To participate in the leisure activities, you need a DJH family membership! More information at
If your child is travelling with us to a country other than their home country, we strongly recommend that you take out travel insurance to cover medical repatriation in the event of an accident or serious illness. If your child does not yet have travel insurance, you can book our travel insurance package, which includes international health insurance, liability insurance, accident insurance and assistance insurance. Please note that non-EU insurance policies are usually not accepted by hospitals and doctors, who will require payment in cash. Therefore, please always take out EU health insurance.
We would like to point out that participants without adequate international insurance cover must be prepared to pay any medical or hospital bills themselves. Camp Adventure will not cover these costs. For this purpose, a security deposit of approximately £500 in cash or a credit card with sufficient cover should be brought along.
Detailed information about our travel insurance package can be found here.
We collect all medication at check-in and give it to your child as needed/instructed. All medication should be placed in a sealed bag labelled with your child's name. We also ask you to include a brief description of the treatment required and dosage instructions. Important medications such as asthma inhalers should be brought in sufficient quantities, as they may not contain exactly the same substances abroad and a prior visit to the doctor may be necessary for new prescriptions.
We also ask for all details about your child's medical and social needs in a questionnaire. We will send this to you in the ‘Final Travel Information’ email.
First, the good news: Homesickness is completely normal and part of growing up! Our Teamers are very familiar with this issue and will take good care of your child.
If your child is travelling without you for the first time, we recommend our ‘Anti-Homesickness’ guide, which contains some very effective tips!
You can find it as videos on YouTube or as a pdf!
We are proud to have such a diverse and international team at our camps! Our counsellors bring valuable experience from their travels and previous camps, contributing significantly to the unique Camp Adventure experience.
Together with our participants from many different countries, they create a cosmopolitan community where different cultures can be discovered and friendships with children and young people from all over the world can be made.
The camp languages are English and German – depending on the location, the local language of the respective camp may also be used.
We know how valuable it is to capture unforgettable memories! That's why we take as many photos as possible during the camps. However, our focus is on providing the children with an eventful time filled with exciting activities. Please understand that we cannot guarantee that every child will be captured in a photo.
Your child is welcome to bring a digital camera. It does not need to be handed in at check-in, but this is at your own risk.
As the internet connection on site is not always ideal, we are unable to share all photos on social media or our website during the camp. From autumn onwards, you will find all the photos on our website, where you can relive the best moments.
