UM-Service
If you use the airline’s UM (Unaccompanied Minor) service for the flight, you will receive all necessary information about the designated pick-up person from us in advance.
The following official contact person is registered:
Jan-Albert Vieth, Camp Adventure
Bahrenfelder Steindamm 22, 22761 Hamburg
Phone: +49 40 8080 576 11
Passport/ID no.: L1V50X531
Even if Jan is not personally present at the airport, our team members are authorized to pick up your child. They carry the appropriate letter of authorization and can identify themselves at any time.
Pocketmoney
For camps in Spain as well as trips involving air travel, we recommend pocket money of approximately €50–100 per week. This allows participants to easily cover expenses such as meals during excursions or while traveling.
Please note that in Spain, many shops now only accept card payments.
We therefore recommend using a prepaid credit card.
Entry requirements may vary depending on nationality, destination, and length of stay. Please make sure to check with the relevant authorities well in advance to find out which regulations apply to you.
Camp Adventure accepts no liability if required travel documents are missing or not recognized.
Passport
A valid passport is required for travel. Please ensure early on that the passport is valid on the day of departure and does not expire during the entire stay.
Letter of Consent for group flights
If a child is traveling without their legal guardians, authorities and airlines recommend a written parental consent form (,,Letter of Consent“). As participants travel accompanied by the Camp Adventure team, we will provide you with the appropriate form. Please complete it in full, sign it, and give it to your child as a printed copy.
Shuttle from/to the airport
All necessary documents for traveling to Spain can be found under “Important Camp Information.”
Our arrival and departure shuttles in Spain are always accompanied by our trained Camp Adventure team. You can easily recognize our staff: they wear brown CAMP ADVENTURE T-shirts, a red lanyard with a name badge, or carry a clearly visible CAMP ADVENTURE sign.
Pick-up and drop-off take place at Barcelona Airport. Depending on traffic conditions and group size, we use taxis, coaches, or—if appropriate—public transportation such as trains for the transfer to camp.
Arrival
Our staff will meet all participants on the day of arrival directly behind baggage claim in the arrivals area and then accompany them to the transfer to camp.
Landing: 12–4 PM
Departure
For the return journey, our staff will accompany participants to the airport check-in counter and ensure a safe handover.
Departure: 12–4 PM
Important: Arrival and departure must fall within these time windows. If you arrive or depart outside of the transfer times, an additional pick-up or drop-off fee will apply.
UM Service (Unaccompanied Minor):
If you book the airline’s UM (Unaccompanied Minor) service, we will provide you in advance with all necessary details about the authorized pick-up person:
The official contact person is:
Jan-Albert Vieth, Camp Adventure
Bahrenfelder Steindamm 22, 22761 Hamburg, Germany
Phone: +49 40 8080 576 11
Passport/ID No.: L1V50X531
Even if Jan is not personally present at the airport, our team members are authorized to pick up your child. They carry the appropriate authorization and can identify themselves at any time.
If your child is traveling as an unaccompanied minor, they will be handed over to an airline staff member after check-in. Our team will supervise the entire process and ensure that the handover runs smoothly and reliably.
Transfer questionnaire:
To ensure a smooth and safe arrival and departure for your child, we require the relevant flight details. You will receive the transfer questionnaire at the time of booking. It is also available at any time in the customer portal and must be completed in full before the start of the trip.
Meals:
For shuttle transfers, please make sure your child has snacks, drinks, or pocket money on the day of arrival. On the day of departure, the transfer takes place after breakfast; for longer journeys, a packed lunch will be provided.
Arrival and departure are organized independently and take place directly at the camp. Our team will welcome you on site and supervise your child until they are handed over to the designated pick-up persons.
Arrival: Sunday, 4–6 PM
Departure: Saturday, 10 AM–12 PM
If you are unable to meet these times, please contact us in advance. Together, we will find a suitable solution.

Arrival by group flight from Germany
All necessary documents for traveling to Spain can be found under “Important Camp Information.”
The group flight is a Camp Adventure–accompanied travel option from Germany. Participants travel together as a group and are supervised by our trained Camp Adventure team throughout the entire flight. After landing, a joint transfer to the camp is organized.
Group flights take place exclusively on the official arrival and departure days and follow a fixed schedule. Parents drop off their child directly at the meeting point at the airport and pick them up there again on the return day. Our counselors are easy to recognize by their Camp Adventure clothing and will reliably accompany the group from check-in through to handover at the destination.

Arrival from your region
As an additional option, we offer supervised train transfers from various locations in Germany to and from the departure airport. The journey takes place together as a group and is accompanied by a Camp Adventure counselor.
Boarding takes place directly at the respective train station onto a regularly scheduled train. Parents personally hand over their child to our team there—either on the platform or on the train. Our counselors are easy to recognize by their Camp Adventure clothing and will accompany the group reliably from that moment all the way to the airport.
The train connections are fixed and coordinated with the flight times. Arrival at the airport is scheduled so that the group arrives approximately 3.5 hours before departure. After the return journey, the handover takes place again at the train station.
Meals:
For the shuttle transfers, please ensure your child has snacks, drinks, or pocket money on the day of arrival. On the day of departure, the journey takes place after breakfast; for longer distances, a packed lunch will be provided.

On the day of arrival and departure, as well as in serious emergencies, we are available by phone 24 hours a day. Please only call the emergency number if it is an urgent matter that cannot wait until regular office hours. The line is only available during camp hours.
The office team is happy to help you Monday to Friday between 9:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m. – we will also call you back quickly.
Camp Adventure office: +49 40 8080 576 00
Emergencies: +49 40 8080 576 11
Contact options during the camp:
As there are no telephone lines at the camp, we recommend that you provide your child with a mobile phone. Please ensure that roaming is activated and/or that your child has an international SIM card. Wi-Fi is not available at many camp locations in Germany.
Rules for technical devices:
All electronic devices will be collected at the start of the camp. This helps to keep the focus on the experience. We will inform you immediately if there are any health issues. No call = everything is fine!
The devices may be used during siesta time. Afterwards, the supervisors will return them to their owners. Mobile phones must remain with your child during excursions.
In case of emergency, please use our 24-hour emergency number.
Since phone calls home can cause homesickness, we generally recommend sending an email instead. That's why we offer an email service that allows you to send your child an email once a day. We usually print these out in the morning and then forward them to your child. Please refrain from sending attachments such as pictures, videos, comics or similar. We cannot print these out or show them to the children. This is a ‘one-way service’. Your child cannot reply to you, but they will certainly be happy to receive a little message from home.
If you miss your child and would like to be called during siesta time, simply send an email to the camp. The camp location's email address is also the best way to contact our team on site directly if you have any organisational questions, for example.
Email addresses of the camps:
Amrum:
Bath University:
Barcelona:
Bavarian Forest:
ESA Camp Sweden:
Lauenburg Lake District:
Lüneburg Heath:
Rossall School:
Sauerland:
Emails:
Please note that it takes about 24 hours for us to print, sort, and deliver emails. If you send your message in the morning, it will usually be handed out the next day. Emails are always distributed during Siesta time.
Letters and Postcards:
Keep in mind that letters and postcards can take several days to arrive.
Important: Make sure to include your child’s full name and the camp date in the address line so we can correctly assign the mail.
Please send letters early – ideally one week before the camp starts. Unfortunately, we cannot process packages or returns.
You’ll find the camp addresses listed above under the section “Address.”
Please do not pack more than one large piece of luggage with a maximum weight of 20 kg! During transfers, luggage must be carried by the participants themselves.
For travel / camp check-in:
- Documents: (EU) health insurance card/confirmation,
copies of train/flight tickets (if available) - Medication
- Pocket money
- Smartphone/smartwatch, etc. with charger
For air travel:
- Passport, entry documents, Letter of Consent (for group flights)
- Emergency clothing in case luggage is lost (2x underwear, swimwear, shorts), Visa invitation letter (for non-EU citizens)
Please place important documents, medication, and pocket money in a sealable bag and label it clearly with your child’s name and the respective camp. We will collect the bag at check-in and store everything safely for your child.
Toiletry bag:
- Shower gel & shampoo
- Deodorant (no spray deodorant)
- Toothbrush & toothpaste
- Sunscreen
- Hairbrush
- Insect repellent
Clothing:
- Underwear and socks
- Swimwear
- Pajamas
- T-shirts
- Sweaters
- Shorts
- Long pants
- Jacket for cooler evenings
- Rain jacket
- Hat/base cap
- Hiking shoes/sturdy shoes
- Flip-flops/sandals
- Sneakers
Other essentials:
- Daypack for excursions
- Laundry bag (e.g. a pillowcase)
- Towels (large and small)
- Flashlight
- Water bottle labeled with name
The following items are not allowed at camp:
- Pocket knives with locking blades
- Weapons of any kind
- Lighters and matches (fire hazard)
Tips & tricks:
Please label your child’s clothing and laundry, as many campers bring similar items. This is the only way to clearly identify and return lost clothing.
We recommend using a pillowcase or fabric bag to store dirty laundry—wet clothes in plastic bags may cause stains.
It can be helpful to pack clean clothes in differently colored bags so items like underwear can be found quickly without unpacking everything.
Please do not bring electronic devices or valuables exceeding €500. We do not accept liability for such items.
Pocket money:
For camps in England and Spain as well as trips involving air travel, we recommend pocket money of approximately €50–100 (or GBP) per week. This allows participants to easily cover expenses such as meals during excursions or while traveling. Please note that in England and Spain, many shops now only accept card payments. We therefore recommend using a prepaid credit card.
If your child is travelling with us to a country other than their home country, we strongly recommend that you take out travel insurance to cover medical repatriation in the event of an accident or serious illness. If your child does not yet have travel insurance, you can book our travel insurance package, which includes international health insurance, liability insurance, accident insurance and assistance insurance. Please note that non-EU insurance policies are usually not accepted by hospitals and doctors, who will require payment in cash. Therefore, please always take out EU health insurance.
We would like to point out that participants without adequate international insurance cover must be prepared to pay any medical or hospital bills themselves. Camp Adventure will not cover these costs. For this purpose, a security deposit of approximately £500 in cash or a credit card with sufficient cover should be brought along.
Detailed information about our travel insurance package can be found here.
We collect all medication at check-in and give it to your child as needed/instructed. All medication should be placed in a sealed bag labelled with your child's name. We also ask you to include a brief description of the treatment required and dosage instructions. Important medications such as asthma inhalers should be brought in sufficient quantities, as they may not contain exactly the same substances abroad and a prior visit to the doctor may be necessary for new prescriptions.
We also ask for all details about your child's medical and social needs in a questionnaire. We will send this to you in the ‘Final Travel Information’ email.
First, the good news: Homesickness is completely normal and part of growing up! Our Teamers are very familiar with this issue and will take good care of your child.
If your child is travelling without you for the first time, we recommend our ‘Anti-Homesickness Guide,’ which contains some very effective tips!
You can find it as videos on YouTube or as a PDF!
For legal reasons, out of conviction and in cooperation with the organisation Keine Macht den Drogen (No Power to Drugs), all camp participants are strictly prohibited from possessing or consuming drugs of any kind, including cigarettes, vapes and alcoholic beverages. Violation of this rule will result in exclusion from the camp. In this case, the legal guardians will bear the costs incurred.
We are convinced that our varied activities and the great camp atmosphere offer much better alternatives anyway!
We also attach great importance to respectful interaction. Discrimination, bullying or violence have no place here. Our goal is to ensure that all campers, regardless of age or origin, have a happy, relaxed and safe time.
We are proud to have such a diverse and international team at our camps! Our counsellors bring valuable experience from their travels and previous camps, contributing significantly to the unique Camp Adventure experience.
Together with our participants from many different countries, they create a cosmopolitan community where different cultures can be discovered and friendships with children and young people from all over the world can be made.
The camp languages are English and German – depending on the location, the local language of the respective camp may also be used.
We know how valuable it is to capture unforgettable memories! That's why we take as many photos as possible during the camps. However, our focus is on providing the children with an eventful time filled with exciting activities. Please understand that we cannot guarantee that every child will be captured in a photo.
Your child is welcome to bring a digital camera. It does not need to be handed in at check-in, but this is at your own risk.
As the internet connection on site is not always ideal, we are unable to share all photos on social media or our website during the camp. From autumn onwards, you will find all the photos on our website, where you can relive the best moments.

My two children were there last summer and absolutely loved it. They didn't want to go home!
