Our entire team is looking forward to an exciting and adventurous holiday camp with you. Below you will find a summary of all the important information about our adventure, sports and language camps. Entry requirements may vary depending on nationality, destination, and length of stay.
Please check the applicable regulations with the relevant authorities well in advance. Camp Adventure assumes no liability if required travel documents are missing or not accepted.

Passport:

A valid passport is required for travel. Please make sure early on that the passport is valid on the day of departure and does not expire during the entire stay.

ETA (Electronic Travel Authorization):

In addition, a valid ETA is required to enter the United Kingdom. This must be applied for online before departure and is mandatory. Please ensure that all details match your child’s passport exactly. The official website to apply for the UK ETA is this one: https://www.gov.uk/eta/apply

Letter of Consent for group flights:

If a child is traveling without their legal guardians, authorities and airlines recommend a written parental consent (“Letter of Consent”). As participants travel accompanied by the Camp Adventure team, we will provide you with the appropriate form. Please complete it in full, sign it, and give your child a printed copy to carry with them.

If independent arrival and departure are not selected, onward travel within England will take place as a joint overnight journey from London to Cornwall.
The train journey is included in the travel price. The train departs from London Paddington Station at around midnight and arrives in Cornwall the following morning.
The entire journey is accompanied by the Camp Adventure team, who coordinate the process and ensure a safe and reliable arrival and departure.

Arrival by group flight from Germany

All required documents for travel to England can be found under “Important Camp Information”.

The group flight is an arrival and departure option organized and accompanied by Camp Adventure from Germany. Participants travel together as a group and are supervised throughout the entire flight by our trained Camp Adventure team. After landing, the group is transferred together to the camp.

Group flights take place exclusively on the official arrival and departure days and are scheduled at fixed times.

Parents hand over their child directly at the meeting point at the airport and pick them up again there on the return day. Our counselors are easy to recognize by their Camp Adventure clothing and accompany the group reliably from check-in through to handover at the destination.

Please note that flight and train times may still change at short notice due to adjustments by the airlines or the railway company. Therefore, please check your travel documents again shortly before departure and verify the current times so that your journey can start as smoothly as possible.

    Arrival from your local area

As an additional option, we offer accompanied train connections from various locations in Germany to and from the departure airport. Arrival and departure take place together as a group and are supervised by a Camp Adventure counselor.

Boarding takes place directly at the respective train station on a regularly scheduled train. Parents personally hand their child over to our team there—either on the platform or on the train. Our counselors are easy to recognize by their Camp Adventure clothing and accompany the group reliably from that moment all the way to the airport.

The train connections are fixed and coordinated with the flight schedules. Arrival at the airport is planned so that the group arrives around 3.5 hours before departure. After the return journey, the handover takes place again at the train station.

You will receive the exact carriage number approximately six weeks before departure.

Please note that flight and train times may still change at short notice due to adjustments by the airlines or the railway company. Therefore, please check your travel documents again shortly before departure and verify the current times so that your journey can start as smoothly as possible.

      Emergency number

On the day of arrival and departure, as well as in the event of serious emergencies, we are available by phone 24 hours a day. Please use the emergency number only for urgent matters that cannot wait until regular office hours. This line is available exclusively during the camp period.

Our office team is happy to assist you Monday to Friday between 9:00 am and 5:00 pm, and return calls are handled promptly.

      Camp Adventure Office: +49 40 8080 576 00
      Emergency line: +49 40 8080 576 11

      Mobile phone, smartwatch and telephone

      Contact options during camp:
As there are no landline telephones at camp, we recommend that you give your child a mobile phone. Please make sure roaming is activated and/or an international SIM card is available. Wi-Fi is not available at many camp locations in Germany.

      Rules for electronic devices:
All electronic devices are collected at the beginning of the camp. This helps keep the focus on the camp experience. In case of health-related issues, we will inform you immediately. No call means everything is fine!

Devices may be used during siesta time. Afterwards, counselors collect them again for safekeeping. During excursions, the phone stays with your child.

For emergencies, please use our 24-hour emergency number.

      Emails and Post

As phone calls home can sometimes trigger homesickness, we generally recommend writing an email instead. That’s why we offer an email service that allows you to send your child one email per day. We usually print these emails in the morning and pass them on to your child. Please refrain from sending attachments such as images, videos, comics, or similar files, as we are unable to print or show them to the children. This is a one-way service, meaning your child cannot reply—but they will surely be happy to receive a little message from home.

If you miss your child and would like to be called during siesta time, simply send an email to the camp. The camp location email address is also the best way to contact our on-site team directly if you have organizational questions or similar concerns.

Letters and postcards sometimes take a very long time to arrive, so we recommend not sending them. The addresses of the individual camps can be found in the camp-specific information.

Please do not pack more than one large piece of luggage with a maximum weight of 20 kg. During transfers, luggage must be carried independently.

      For travel / camp check-in:

      • Documents: (EU) health insurance card/certificate, copies of train/flight tickets (if available)
      • Medications
      • Pocket money
      • Smartphone/smartwatch, etc. with charger

      For air travel:
      • Passport, entry documents, Letter of Consent (for group flights)
      • Emergency clothing in case luggage is lost (2 sets of underwear, swimwear, shorts)
      • Visa invitation letter (for non-EU citizens)

Please pack all important documents, medications, and pocket money in a sealable bag and clearly label it with your child’s name and the respective camp. We will collect this bag at check-in and store everything safely for your child.

      Toiletry bag:
      • Shower gel & shampoo, deodorant (no spray deodorant)
      • Toothbrush & toothpaste
      • Sunscreen
      • Hairbrush
      • Insect repellent

      Clothing:
      • Underwear and socks
      • Swimwear
      • Pajamas
      • T-shirts
      • Sweater
      • Shorts
      • Long pants
      • Jacket for cool evenings
      • Rain jacket
      • Hat/baseball cap
      • Hiking shoes/sturdy shoes
      • Flip-flops/sandals
      • Sneakers

      Other essentials:
      • Daypack for excursions
      • Laundry bag (e.g. a pillowcase)
      • Towels (large and small)
      • Flashlight
      • Reusable water bottle with name
      • Plug adapter for UK sockets

The following items are prohibited at camp:
      • Pocket knives with locking blades
      • Weapons of any kind
      • Lighters and matches (fire hazard)

      Tips & tricks:

Please label all of your child’s clothing and laundry, as many campers bring similar items. This is the only way lost clothing can be clearly identified and returned.
We recommend using a pillowcase or fabric bag for dirty laundry—wet clothing stored in plastic bags may develop stains.
It’s helpful to pack clean clothes in different colored bags so items like underwear can be found quickly without unpacking everything.
Please do not bring technical devices or valuables worth more than €500. We cannot accept liability for such items.

      Pocket money:
For camps in England and Spain, as well as for trips involving air travel, we recommend pocket money of around €50–100 or £50–100 per week. This allows expenses such as meals during excursions or while traveling to be paid easily. Please note that in England and Spain, many shops now accept card payments only. We therefore recommend using a prepaid credit card.

      Travel insurance

If your child is travelling with us to a country other than their home country, we strongly recommend that you take out travel insurance to cover medical repatriation in the event of an accident or serious illness. If your child does not yet have travel insurance, you can book our travel insurance package, which includes international health insurance, liability insurance, accident insurance and assistance insurance. Please note that non-EU insurance policies are usually not accepted by hospitals and doctors, who will require payment in cash. Therefore, please always take out EU health insurance.

We would like to point out that participants without adequate international insurance cover must be prepared to pay any medical or hospital bills themselves. Camp Adventure will not cover these costs. For this purpose, a security deposit of approximately £500 in cash or a credit card with sufficient cover should be brought along.

Detailed information about our travel insurance package can be found here.

      Handling medication

We collect all medication at check-in and give it to your child as needed/instructed. All medication should be placed in a sealed bag labelled with your child's name. We also ask you to include a brief description of the treatment required and dosage instructions. Important medications such as asthma inhalers should be brought in sufficient quantities, as they may not contain exactly the same substances abroad and a prior visit to the doctor may be necessary for new prescriptions.
We also ask for all details about your child's medical and social needs in a questionnaire. We will send this to you in the ‘Final Travel Information’ email.

      Homesickness

First, the good news: Homesickness is completely normal and part of growing up! Our Teamers are very familiar with this issue and will take good care of your child.

If your child is travelling without you for the first time, we recommend our ‘Anti-Homesickness Guide,’ which contains some very effective tips!

You can find it as videos on YouTube or as a PDF!

      Drugs and social behaviour

For legal reasons, out of conviction and in cooperation with the organisation Keine Macht den Drogen (No Power to Drugs), all camp participants are strictly prohibited from possessing or consuming drugs of any kind, including cigarettes, vapes and alcoholic beverages. Violation of this rule will result in exclusion from the camp. In this case, the legal guardians will bear the costs incurred.
We are convinced that our varied activities and the great camp atmosphere offer much better alternatives anyway!
We also attach great importance to respectful interaction. Discrimination, bullying or violence have no place here. Our goal is to ensure that all campers, regardless of age or origin, have a happy, relaxed and safe time.

      Internationality

We are proud to have such a diverse and international team at our camps! Our counsellors bring valuable experience from their travels and previous camps, contributing significantly to the unique Camp Adventure experience.
Together with our participants from many different countries, they create a cosmopolitan community where different cultures can be discovered and friendships with children and young people from all over the world can be made.
The camp languages are English and German – depending on the location, the local language of the respective camp may also be used.

      Pictures

We know how valuable it is to capture unforgettable memories! That's why we take as many photos as possible during the camps. However, our focus is on providing the children with an eventful time filled with exciting activities. Please understand that we cannot guarantee that every child will be captured in a photo.

Your child is welcome to bring a digital camera. It does not need to be handed in at check-in, but this is at your own risk.

As the internet connection on site is not always ideal, we are unable to share all photos on social media or our website during the camp. From autumn onwards, you will find all the photos on our website, where you can relive the best moments.
